When we talk about sustainability in the chocolate supply chain, it means that the chocolate can continue to be enjoyed by future generations forever. This means that it is produced while ensuring regard for a diverse environment and the farming communities.
We are able to offer a wide variety of sustainable cocoa solutions, including Cocoa Horizons, Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade International, organic certifications, other local certifications.
For chefs and artisans, it matters more than ever to know the stories behind the ingredients they work with, their origin, and how they’ve been grown.
All to understand true quality. We share that concern greatly. Since 2020, the cocoa liquor for our Finest Belgian Chocolates, such as 811 and 823, are made from traceable cocoa beans. The lots of beans can be traced back to the farming communities in Ghana, Ivory Coast and Ecuador we directly buy from. With this traceability guarantee, we want to be transparent about the communities who grow our beans.
To drive cocoa farmer prosperity, create self-sustaining farming communities, and achieve real progress, the Cocoa Horizons Foundation’s impact based approach targets funds toward the most impactful activities that achieve meaningful change across three key areas: productivity, community, and environment.
